Automattic Launches Program for Agencies

Automattic’s New Program Aims to Attract Agencies

Automattic, the company known for WordPress.com, Jetpack, WooCommerce, and more, has unveiled a new initiative designed to entice agencies into their product ecosystem. The program offers various avenues for agencies to generate revenue, setting Automattic in a head-to-head competition with closed-source systems like Wix and Duda. However, the distinctions between these platforms are quite evident.

Automattic For Agencies

‘Automattic for Agencies’ consolidates multiple Automattic products into a single service, providing a user-friendly dashboard for managing numerous client sites and billing. The program not only centralizes site management but also offers discounted pricing and revenue-sharing opportunities. Additionally, agencies enrolled in the program receive technical support across all Automattic products included. Moreover, the program ensures managed security and performance enhancements for agencies.

According to the official announcement:

“We worry about site performance and security so you don’t have to. When you connect your sites to the Automattic for Agencies dashboard, you’ll receive instant notifications about updates and alerts, keeping your sites trouble-free and your clients satisfied.”

Revenue Share And Discounts

Participating agencies can now earn a revenue share from the Automattic products utilized by their clients. For instance, agencies can receive a 50% revenue share on Jetpack product referrals, including renewals. Jetpack also offers discounts on licenses, ranging from 10% off for five licenses to 50% off for 100 licenses.

Similar benefits are available for agencies involved in building or managing WooCommerce sites, including discounted agency pricing and a referral program. WordPress.com, the managed WordPress hosting arm of Automattic, is offering a 20% revenue share on new subscriptions and a 50% share on migrations from other hosts.

A tweet from WordPress.com highlighted the new program:

“Agencies, we’ve got some news for you! Our new referral program is live, and as a referrer of services, your agency will receive a 20% revenue share on new subscriptions and 50% on migrations from other hosting providers.”

New Directory For Agencies

A forthcoming feature of the Automattic for Agencies program is a business directory listing participating agencies. This directory is expected to drive business referrals to the agencies, enhancing their visibility and reputation.

Jetpack’s announcement elaborated on the directory:

“Gain heightened visibility through multiple directory listings across Automattic’s business units. This increased exposure creates more opportunities for potential clients to find and engage with your services, helping you grow your agency’s reach and reputation.”

The WooCommerce announcement also emphasized the directory’s benefits:

“Expand your reachIncrease your visibility with partner directory listings across multiple Automattic brands.”

Automattic Affiliate Program

The launch of the Automattic for Agencies program follows the introduction of a separate affiliate program. This affiliate initiative offers up to a 100% referral bonus for affiliates who bring in new hosting clients, with a maximum $300 payout per item. Affiliates can also earn up to a 50% referral bonus for Jetpack plugin subscriptions. The program features a 30-day cookie conversion period, enabling affiliates to earn referral bonuses on additional sales within a 30-day window.
